This film has taken quite a beating over the years from fans and critics (along with Christopher Lee), but I would consider it a guilty pleasure. Granted, it's not HORROR OF DRACULA but, when you stop and think about it' it's the first film since HORROR OF DRACULA to cast Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing opposite each other as Dracula and Van Helsing. Caroline Munro said she liked the attempt to modernize the Dracula myth, and (in my opinion) while AD 1972 was not the first attempt to bring Dracula into modern day, it was not the worst attempt either. The DVD increased my appreciation for the film because the print was so sharp and crisp, allowing us to see set details not visible on the videotape or TV broadcasts.

I have to agree with the above post that it would have been nice to see the Robert Quarry intro done for the U.S release included as an extra. In addition to the trailer that does appear on the DVD, I know I've seen at least one other promo for the film that could have been included, as well.
