Like I said, my viewpoint is not pro-Axis by any stretch of the imagination. Please investigate all the historical references that I cited, really I'm just saying things are seldom as black and white as we think. In fact the more contentious something is the grayer it tends to be. I said "I wonder if that world would be that much worse off had the Axis won the war", not it would be, nor did I say that the Nazis and Imperial Japanese Army were glorious and wonderful humanitarians. And I do wonder what a world ruled by the Axis would have looked like, perhaps out of morbid curiosity than anything else.

The term "Winners write the history" does not exist for no reason. The Allies committed their fair share of war crimes of their own, the Russians, as said, were as brutal as the Nazis were in many ways, GIs raping girls at Okinawa and during the occupation and Hiroshima and Nagasaki could be considered war crimes, though they were certainly preferable to Operation Downfall and brought a swift end to the war. The funny thing is that the Japanese army planned the Rape of Nanking with a similar mentality, they wanted a swift conquest of China and an end of the frustrating resistance so they thought if they decimated and massacred China's capital they could achieve that. If they had an atomic bomb they would have probably just used that.
