Here's to DVDs! I love them now, though I was slow to jump on the parade. My VCR was still burning strong until '04, when it finally bit the dust, and I found it more difficult, if not impossible in my little town, to get a local purchase of a new one. So...I finally decided to upgrade to DVD, and have never looked back since! Well, I still have my VHS tapes, some of them converted over to DVD-R, and I do look upon that time fondly. I remember the first time I finally got my own VCR, and I was so excited to be able to record my favorite TV shows and movies! I now have a fairly decent DVD collection. I will someday upgrade to BR, but finances preclude doing that anytime soon, and I'm doubtful I'll do much upgrading of what I already have on disc. Once I do get a player--not sure when that will be at this point--I'll probably just get stuff on BR that I don't already have, unless there are extras I can't just do without.
