I loved Kill List - until the end, at which point I hated it because although it's brilliantly acted and generally well directed (albeit with a few stupid bits), it just stops, suddenly, mid-scene, without any sort of resolution. It spends 90 minutes setting up all this mysterious, apparently inexplicable weirdness and then doesn't explain any of it. Not one thing. And it IS hard to figure it out because I've seen half a dozen wildly differing explanations of what people think is going on.

It really looks to me like the writer-director had no coherent plan behind the story and just threw random 'horror' stuff in there, then guessed (correctly) that people would assume there was something really clever going on. But there isn't. It's the Emperor's new clothes. Imagine reading a whodunnit, a locked room murder mystery, in which the detective gathers all the suspects into one room, lights his pipe and - The End. That's the experience of watching this overhyped nonsense.
