On the previous page I had posted a photo taken from the last page of Chapter 1 of Harryhausen's book An Animated Life, which showed a miniature set of three crosses against a dramatic evening sky, to tie in with Easter last year.  (It was less messy than dipping eggs in dye, but just as colorful.)  In his book Ray H mentions he shot it for a religious group but, due to the passage of time, couldn't remember any more about it.  By sheer dumb luck I recently stumbled across the film for which that miniature set had been made and photographed.  It appears in one of a series of 16mm shorts made in 1951 by Cathedral Films for use by church and civic groups called THE LIVING CHRIST.  There were 12 episodes made for the series in all, and Harryhausen's miniature Golgotha piece appears at the finale of the 12th film, "Crucifixion and Resurrection."  I don't know if future reprints of the book will ever be revised, but I sent the info along to Ray H's official website in case they wanted to incorporate it into his credits or use it for future reference.

EDIT/UPDATE:  Was just contacted by Tony Dalton, Ray's co-author, saying Ray had seen my e-mail and added "it seemed like a hopeless case in trying to find out what it was for.  You have filled in a gap we have been trying to resolve for many years."  They hope to be able to use the footage (the series is listed as a public domain title) on their website, now that they know what to look for.
