Hal, Herbert, etc. - you seem to assume I'm the only one preferring the Hispanic version, when legions of movie fans share this opinion. To be honest, they also, generally, prefer Bela in the role. But I know other people who not only like the Hispanic version better, but also think that Villarias is a more impressive Dracula.
I also know a lot of French moviegoers who think that Lugosi was generally a mediocre actor, only good in three or four movies. In fact, they classify him and Lon Chaney, Jr. in the same category. I'm rather more measured in my own judgements!
