It was great watching this.  Thanks, Stevie.  I'll have to own up to my own geekiness... I actually got excited at the possibilty of more clearly hearing Lugosi's footsteps in Dracula. 

It's interesting... there are different levels of restoration going on here.  We have correction of degradation and elimination of unwanted artifacts like the hiss in Dracula, and that is all to the good.

They are also restoring things that, arguably, don't need to be restored.  Like averaging out the grain in the phony zoom (actually a blowup) in "To Kill A Mockinbird" ...  or making Redford and Streep "bob" less in the frame in "Out of Africa."  These changes aren't due to the ravages of time; instead they are Lucas-like alterations to compensate for the limited technology at the time the film was made.

I'm not complaining or saying this shouldn't be done.  I just think it's an interesting distinction.


  
Yeah, That is funny that they are correcting those things. With the advancements today, and the right resources though. the Classic monster can look and sound great..now if they really do it, that's another story! We'll see....
