Well, to be fair H&J, the 'Roan' can and should be regarded as a very worthy restoration, 'cause visually, it's really most excellent. And sound-wise, if the viewer has a half decent hi-fi system connected to their tv, then it's possible to partially compensate for the woolly sound by whacking up the treble to gas mark 11, then you'll at least be able to make out the dialogue. However, it'll still have that 'dead' ambience to it, kinda like the 1931 Dracula.

In comparison, the SE just sounds vibrant and alive....It has real ambience, and therefore adds a dimension to WZ that's somehow missing from the 'Roan', in spite of its very nice picture.

I have to stress though, this is just my personal opinion....Some people might not want to sacrifice Roan's excellent picture and mediocre sound, for excellent sound with a mediocre picture.
