Come on give the guy credit, CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, HORROR OF DRACULA and THE MUMMY really had a big influence on films of the time. I really don't think we would be talking about Hammer if it wasn't Fisher that directed those films, they were great!

Well, I think 99% of fans already ARE giving Mr. Fisher the credit, RKS. You needn't be concerned about that. But I think the Hammer Appeal was more due to Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee ... and the vibrant addition of color and a little more style, blood, sex, and "period look" to those newer horror movies that made Hammer so endearing to so many monster fans. And this approach would have worked no matter who directed them.
