Eddie Cahn, Ted! Who'd have thunk it. I'd love to hear more. Quite a guy, Eddie was. He directed some amaaazing movies...

As to Americans with affectations, Jonathan Harris was the same way. Wasn't he born in Brooklyn? He picked up that accent as he went along, did pretty well by it. I thought of him recently and occured to me that he was sort of a bargain basement TV version of Hans Conried (not that Conried didn't appear on television).

Along these same lines, it also occurred to me that Sebastian Cabot was a small screen Peter Ustinov type.

None of this has anything to do with the late Mr. MacIntyre, with whom I was cyberpals with for several months, then he stopped responding to my e-mails. Touchy guy. He did send me a postcard from London, though, so he apparently got around.
