Just watched the MOD of A QUIET PLACE IN THE COUNTRY. Wowie! What fun. I bought it on a hunch, and the only thing I could think after viewing it was "Where has this been all my life?" Part Giallo, part art-house, part ghost story. I has fantastic photography, art direction, performances, and riveting Morricone score, a seance, even a little gore. By the same director of the cult favorite THE 10TH VICTIM, you can see the similarities, but it's cool to see how he could just as easily be very dark as well as comedic.

If you like Euro-cult-horror-giallo-arthouse, this is really a treat. For a single-layered DVD it even looks good.
