Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the performance?
But better sourced? Using a torn and scratched 8mm-sound trailer of REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN... substituing a worn ENEMY FROM SPACE trailer for a clip of QUATERMASS XPERIMENT, which would've meant spending some money... substituting clips from DPOD because it would cost too much to use a clip from HORROR OF DRACULA... No mention of ONE MILLION YEARS BC because it's not part of the package, but we get two drawn-out clips from SHE in washed-out color and pan-n-scanned... no, those guys used what they could get, cheaply. I think they did well under the circumstances-- sure, they had a full crew and it wasn't all coming out of the producer's pocket while he was working assorted jobs to pay for it.
I've just spent two (more) years of my life re-editing this thing and upgrading every interview byte, every film clip, every still, adding new material and elongating other things. I had fun doing this extremely costly and time-consuming endeavor. Cushing saw the rough cut and approved; Lee, likewise. They had fun working together that day. Joyce Broughton told me "Sir" had the best time he'd had in years that day. That counts, to me.
Not doing it... that was not an option.
