Me and a friend always talked about how,if we had the money,we'd start our own radio station. Yes,we would play some "politically correct" (what we call the typical classic rock songs like Free Bird,Stairway ect.) but we'd also throw in a LOT of obscure stuff.
He always claimed his first song he'd play would be a John Hiatt song. Me,I'm not as sure of what my first song would be,but it would be something never played on radio. It would probably be something off of Lindsey Buckingham's solo albums. Or Webb Wilder,or the 101ers (Joe Strummer's early band),the Graverobbers (not to be confused with the horror band out now.) The Fondas (from Detroit, not England),The Gore Gore Girls or even Joe Strummer's solo stuff before he died. Plus, there's some Cleveland bands I grew up with that never made the bigtime but came up with some good stuff.
I grew up in the 70's,so I've always been an album oriented person. There are some great songs by even the famous groups that I feel are severely overlooked by radio and sattelite radio. I can name at least 10 songs each by groups like The Stones,The Who,Roxy Music ect. that never get played by radio, and that I think are worthy of inclusion.
I don't have the time tonight, but I will check out the rest of your videos. I googled Blip fm but I'm not sure if I got the exact thing that you're on,but I didn't really have the time to really check it. Maybe tommorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
