Just recently picked up the first issue of Ghost Stories at a convention. The first story of that issue, about the kidnap and brutal murders of children, is outstanding. Good, solid art and a scary story. Kids are being stolen from their beds and crushed into bloody pulps. How did the usually-tame Dell get away with this? By never showing the crushed victims, instead showing crowds of horrified onlookers describing what they see. Back in the day, this one must have kept at least a few kids from getting a good night's sleep!
