In the 70's David Hewitt wisely wanted to shoot all new special effects scenes with stop motion.  The deal fell through. Here's the new T-Rex we made for him that he didn't use. Larry Arpin made a somewhat Gwangi-like model, but it had some serious cosmetic problems that were fixed by Bruce Heller and me. I did the face and the paint job.

I like your dinosaur puppet and it's really too bad it didn't get used for the feature. When I was first starting out I was also offered a chance to do stop-motion for a feature just for the experience and credit, no pay. Had to turn it down too. At least on Planet o'Dinos we were paid just enough to cover our mileage and get some lunch.
