Meh. I think it should be a crucifix - a bona-fide religious item and the bearer must have faith in it.

I was OK with the scene in Salem's Lot when David Soul made the cross out of two tongue depressors because he had performed a blessing on it. He made it into a religious item with his prayer and faith. Jumping onto a windmill and making a shadow of a cross? That's pushing the limits a tad. Otherwise, great movie! At least it was creative!

Loved the subtle peek at the Baroness' fangs.

Peel would have made an excellent Dorian Gray as well.
