Saw this a few months back but remember only a few scenes*, & those only vaguely, which I suppose is something of a critique in itself. It's certainly watchable, but a half-year or so later my impression is one of a jumbled mixture of decent ideas, which pretty much jibes with your estimation. My Netflix history queue tells me I gave it 3 stars, which is about right, I think.

Oddly, off the top of my head I think I recalled it as being Irish, rather than Australian ... but no doubt that's a reflection of the banshee mythology.




*One of which was the sister-cooks-dinner-badly segment, for some reason. Either they really played that effectively, or I think about food too much. Judging from my waistline, the latter is likely.
