Uncle Bingo,

For me, killing Hicks and Newt was not only not stupid, it was creative and brave...

This is pretty much how I felt about it, with one addition. The death of Ripley is a final rest and a great end for such a great character. What was to be her fate, flying from planet to planet fighting Aliens? That sounds like a terrible life to wish on anyone. Jon's point about "How many times do we wanna watch the same movie?" is well taken. 3 is not perfect but the story arc is acceptable to me. 4 is just so unlike the rest of them that it feels like a spoof. OK to spoof, but it will never feel a part of the series. AVP is instantly forgettable. AVP2 I haven't bothered to watch.
