I just picked up G-FAN #94 tonight (Winter 2011, Bob Eggleton's Gorgo cover). Fun issue with goodies inside as always.

Mark Justice's article "Save The Earth!", concerning ecological messages in Toho's monster movies is particularly good, and prescient, in light of last month's tsunami and subsequent trouble with keeping nuclear melt down from happening to damaged nuclear plants, as Justice's article concentrates on radiation in the films.

Justice closes his story with this: ...the continued use of nuclear energy can only be a cause for concern of such importance that it only seems logical to make every effort to remind audiences of the horror of the past and the possible, and  perhaps, eventual horror of the future.

He'll continue next issue with a piece on environmental pollution in the Godzilla films. I can only imagine that he'll have to reflect on the recent disaster.
