I recently watched LAS MOMIAS DE GUANAJUATO in the wee small hours of the morning, as it was meant to be seen.  It's fairly standard in terms of plot - monster shows up on the scene, wrestlers slog through a lot of baddies to take it down, but this one has a lot of energy and it's fun to see Mil Mascaras and Blue Demon taking the lead.  This was my first Mil Mascaras movie and he's pretty darn good in the ring and has more eclectic fashion tastes than Santo.

It's also pretty interesting to me that these momias could inspire both this wacky wrestling movie as well as be super-spooky in Herzog's NOSFERATU.  I wonder which flick the 19th century poor residents of Guanajuato would prefer if they knew of the varied post-mortem film career they'd eventually have.

I watched the Mexican R1/R4 DVD which happily has English subs when the US Santo DVDs put out by Lionsgate won't include them.  Something's screwy with that.
