Most of the better lucha films were made between 1952 and 1970, afterwards there was a downhill spiral although there were some brightspots after 1970 and there were indeed clunkers between '52' and '70. It depends alot on personal taste really. The Neutron films that were dubbed in english are a good way to go though NEUTRON VS DR KARONTE is a bit of a letdown when compared to the other films in the series. The first four Mil Mascaras films [MIL MASCARAS, LOS CANALLAS, ENIGMA DE MUERTE and LAS VAMPIRAS] are also worth tracking down but to my knowledge no english translations exist for these films. I would recommend the Superzan films for completists only as they came out post '70. The Blue Demon films tend to be a mixed bad, again depending on preferrences, the favorites tend to be team ups with Santo [most of which have now been subtitled on dvd] but he did have some solid solo outings, my preferrences being NOCHE DE MUERTE and LA MAFIA AMARILLA, not horror related but still very good movies and are one of the rare cases of a good lucha film post '70. I could only recommend the english dubbed WRESTLING WOMEN films for camp appeal only but even these can be more enjoyable than a Superzan film [yes they're that bad!!!] if approached in the right way. Hope this helps.
