The villain in the Doc Savage novel Repel* is scientific/criminal genius Cadwiller Olden, a 3-foot tall dwarf -- albeit perfectly physically proportioned. (Olden's limbs and features are exactly like that of a normal-sized person.) He sleeps in a luxurious, over-sized baby crib. He also paints his toenails and crews his headquarters yacht exclusively with hunky, shirtless men. (The character is obviously supposed to be gay, but Lester Dent couldn't come right out and say that.)

Easily Doc's most bizarre opponent... but also one of his most formidable. Repel is top-flight pulp adventure, one of the all-time best Doc Savage supersagas (particularly of those with sci-fi elements.)

* Retitled The Deadly Dwarf by Bantam.
