I looked for the previous threads on this film, because I posted answers to these questions previously, but nada.

The Japanese version of THE GREEN SLIME (Ganma Sango Uchu Daisakusen) is shorter than the US version because it was intended for Toei's children's matinee package -- about a three hour show of featurettes and the feature (GREEN SLIME). So, all of that "icky love triangle stuff" was jettisoned, and they just cut to the chase, literally. IIRC, the Japanese version is 68 mins.

Interestingly, the US version of LATITUDE ZERO (1969) is several minutes longer than the Japanese release -- LATITUDE ZERO was shot entirely in English, and was dubbed for the Japanese release. There was also a shorter version re-issued in the '70s for the Toho Champion Festivalchildren's matinee package.
