Joe - the two bits you mentioned from NOOSE HANGS HIGH are jokes they used in other routines, sometimes with variations. For example, in HERE COME THE CO-EDS, they talk about swimming and what should Lou do if he saw someone drowning. When he says he'd throw a life-saver, Bud admonishes him for taking work away from life guards. I believe I heard the Wister-shire... routine on one of their radio eps too, but I have no idea if it was before or after NOOSE.

I think one reason I like MUSTARD in POLICE is that Lou can really become exasperated by the crazy logic, where in NOOSE he's forced to keep quiet so as no not make a scene. Also, later in Noose, I always felt cheated that Lou did the "Horse's Mudder" routine with someone besides Bud
