Pardon the late response. But Atenolol I wanted to high-five you for making this thread an even more interesting one than it would have been.

You got me thinking about evolution, about scientific "revisionism" in science fiction, and whether it's as fair as scientific speculation. I decided I didn't agree with you, but in your exchanges here you were unfailingly cheerful, complimentary and modest. Made for better reading. Thanks!

And all of this has made me want to revisit 2001, which I hadn't thought possible. I've seen it 2 or 3 times decades ago, and couldn't warm to it. I need to view it again, I think.
