Joe; I have avidly been following the 'live' events of this thread, and I can't wait to hear your frank thoughts on the goods when they finall arrive. This Laurel &Hardy mega-set clearly means a lot to you, and I hope the merchandise matches your best expectations.

I am in the UK and my problemo was similar: the 4-disk KING KONG deluxe 1933 set was only available online from US outlets, and I had to shell out for a Region 1 player: that was almost 3 years ago, and it doesn't look like the US Kong set will ever be released in the UK, so it turned out to be a wise move. I also now have access to other riches unavailable in the UK, like good copies of the early Fleischer POPEYE cartoons [the entire lot, up 'til 1945] and other worthy riches. Like SAM 33 sez, having an extra DVD machine [or two] means you will never be stuck for home savoration of satisfactory viewing.

I look forward to your assessment of the DVD set: in my case, the US KONG set was a must-have, even if I had to shell out for a seperate DVD player.

Thanks. Glad to hear you're getting the pleasures of R1 too!

My latest L&H SET tracking development?
Still only that my package departed from Croydon, England on Jan. 18th.
(Gee, thanks for the update).   smiley: eyes

Y'know, I go through phases of things I'm interested in. While I'm waiting I'm beginning to lose my Laurel and Hardy kick.
