Whenever Richard Strauss' first movement of his tone-poem ALSO SPRACH ZARATHUSTRA is played, especially as a parody, most people over 40 think of 2001. For baby boomers, it is nearly impossible to listen to this music without thinking of Kubrick's film. Not nearly as many people have heard the rest of ZARATHUSTRA, which sounds a lot like one of Hans Salter's and Frank Skinner's scores for the later Universal FRANKENSTEIN sequels.
