I watched Way Out West last night and was killing myself laughing.

I just watched this recently myself, but on the R1 Hallmark disc. It's one of the RARE cases with the UK set, I have read, where the UK version is darker-looking and there is a bad splice during one of the songs. It may be the only exception I can recall where a movie was preferable on the R1:

(From the "Disc By Disc" Review from the previous page's link}:

Way Out West - 1937-
Complete titles with original MGM fanfare and ok picture but which seems a bit dark (I've seen cleaner and brighter versions) and sound. However there is some damage during The Trail Of The Lonesome Pine song, regrettable and in my opinion unforgivable (how can this be called "Restored" when other pristine material is available?) There is also an alternative colourised version of this film. "
