While we're on the subject of "Olde Time Horror", have any of you folks been checking out the Wordsworth Mystery and Supernatural series? Just stumbled upon them myself a month or so ago. I'd been wanting to take a crack at "Varney the Vampire" for years, but the prices have always been too steep -- searched on Amazon and found the Wordsworth edition. It's an incredible bargain -- the entire serial (plus a lengthy introduction), nearly 1200 pages for around five bucks -- not "used", brand new!

Other titles in the series are devoted to single-author collections of people like M.R. James, Le Fanu, Hodgson (a Carnacki collection), Bierce, Conan Doyle, Oliver Onions, Wilkie Collins, E. Nesbit, Marjorie Bowen, plus tons of more obscure authors. There's also some anthologies, Holmes pastiches, a bumper collection of the first four Bulldog Drummond books, Sexton Blake, Robert E. Howard, Alesteir Crowley, Dennis Wheatley, etc etc. They're nicely produced and really REALLY reasonably priced. Go to Amazon, search for "Wordworth Mystery and Supernatural" and see what comes up -- chances are you'll find SOMETHING of interest.
