Another thing about the Insignia - it's even thinner than the Sony. Blu ray players have gotten really small and light. So stacking it on your Sony would be no problem.
Do you have a newer flat panel TV? IF so, then you've almost surely got two HDMI ports on it, all you'd need to do is run the Insignia to the second port.
Push a button or two on your remote, and you're in business. That's really the way to go if you can.

Yup, I can handle that.

I just bought the player, but I hope I got the right one! The model I got had "NS" before the code number you gave me. I'm thinking it's the right machine? I'm very anxious to hook it up, but if I got the wrong player I would rather not take it out of the packaging. I hope one of you guys can fill me in!

Another thing, nowhere on the box or in the booklet does it say anything about 'region free ability'. I talked to my friend, and he said that they do not advertise such things. Is this the case? I was under the impression that this wasn't any kind of "under the radar" type of routine we were talking about here.

I asked the young sales clerk at BB if he had other region free machines, and he said "I didn't think any of them were region free". He also told me that Insignia is Best Buy's brand (brrrrrrrrr).

EDITED TO ADD: I see they don't include a HDMI cable (or ANY type of cable) inside the box. (sigh). Now I've got to run out and purchase an HDMI cable.
