BP:  Nice list, my friend! What the devil is "pocket stew"? Ranch style beans -- the only ones I ever had were out of a can, and they weren't bad. But I get the feeling you are talking about something else. What did your mom put in her potato salad? Tater salad is one of my favoritest foods. Is "lemon icebox pie" the same as lemon meringue pie? My aunt made killer lemon meringue.

Pocket stew--all I know is that I'd open up the hot aluminum foil and there was a juicy hamburger patty in there smothered in scrumptious vegetables and gravy. Which I would then smother in ketchup.
The beans were, I think, pinto beans that she would cook all day and then add her own ingredients to. They were delicious.
I don't know what the potato salad had in it besides the usual eggs, mustard, onions, etc. but it was great.
The lemon icebox pie was sort of a cross between custard and sherbet in a graham cracker crust.

Legend, oh legend, the third wheel legend...always in the way.
