The film's producer (if you order it, you get a really cool letterhead of thanks from Jeffrey Uhlmann with Mil's outline in the background) has been keeping me informed. I don't think he would mind if I reproduce our e-mail correspondence:

To: Uhlmann, Jeffrey
Subject: MIL MASCARAS VS THE AZTEC MUMMY

I just watched this and LOVED it! I have posted about it in 2 different threads on the Classic Horror Film Boards.

You guys have re-invented the Mexican Wrestling horror film! I hope there is more coming.

Thanks

Mark Martucci (MYSTO)

Hi Mark,

I’m glad you liked it. There are two more films in the pipeline: Academy of Doom (www.wwvsb.com) and Aztec Revenge (www.AztecRevenge.com). The former has been done for a long time while the latter is expected to be completed sometime later this year.

Jeff,

Yeah, I just read about those. ACADEMY OF DOOM has the Brainiac in it??? Any idea if a DVD will be out on either? I hope Mil is doing well. How about a film with Santo's son??

Hi Mark,

Academy of Doom has one or more creatures that eat brains. We actually had a working title of “Wrestling Women vs. the Brainiac” because of that and I did include some homages you’ll recognize to those films. The DVD for Academy should have come out at the same time as Mummy but I’ve just been lazy. I planned to do it during the semester break but haven’t yet. I’ll try to get it done by summer.

As for Hijo del Santo, his wife and I have tried since the mid 1990s to get something going on a film but just haven’t gotten beyond the planning stages for one reason or another. It’s possible that a project will be proposed to him in the late spring to see whether it can work with his schedule. The challenge is that he books his events many months in advance and rarely has contiguous chunks of available time.

Jeff,
Thanks for getting back and being so accessible. If possible keep me updated on the DVD releases. Tell the guys they have a big fan up here in Northern NJ.
