Dad was the good cook. He had three meals that couldn't be beat:
1. Peppered steak (better than anything that I've tasted from a restaurant)
2. Beef stew (technically speaking, as I found out later, it was a goulash)
3. Baked macaroni and cheese. Made with a couple of cans of Campbell's Cheese soup(?), stock? anyway then baked in the oven. Open up a can of diced tomatoes and pour it on top - man, what a meal.
