Sid's right about Mopar never having a 343 in their engine lineup; the 343 was an AMC "Generation 2" V8 produced between 1967-69.   Only one I ever saw was in a '69 Rebel {Rambler} at a car show - and it was topped with a MOTORCRAFT 4-bbl carb, of all things!!  The same basic block was more successful fully bored-and-stroked to 390 cubic inches; used in AMX's,  the Hurst S/C Rambler, and regular Javelins and even a few Ambassadors.

Although I've never owned a Mopar myself, I've always wanted a 1967-69 Barracuda notchback, preferably one of the outrageous '69's with a Hemi.  A buddy of mine has one, and before he retired from ChryCo in 2008 he took it to the Fenton #1 plant in Missouri where he worked and literally ran it back down the assembly line, as part of his retirement benefits.  He wound up with a ride that has a 426 Hemi, sequential-port electronic fuel injection, ABS, cruise, AND full-on air-conditioning!  Backed by a six-speed automatic that is still operated via Mopar's classic "pushbutton Torque-Flite" setup, enhanced with colored LED's for each different gear setting.  He's been on the car-show and road-race circuits since 2009 - he drove it to Nevada, ran the Silver State road-race, and drove it back home afterwards this past summer - and he gets appreciative crowds wherever he goes with it.  Not a bad way to enjoy retirement, no?
