The 383 was originally made specially for Road Runners in the first year of production, and if I'm recalling correctly the 383 was a 440 block with different heads added. The special "Beep-Beep" Road Runner horn was also recycled from Chrysler's Jeep division... Just a Jeep horn painted purple,I was going to order a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 340(or was it the 343?) They came available with 318, 340, 360, 383, 440 and Hemi. A 343 was never a Chrysler engine size.
