An "urban" legend that takes place in "out-of-the-way home diner in the woods" !!!
Urban Legend:  An apocryphal, secondhand story told as true and just plausible enough to be believed, about some horrific, embarrassing, ironic, or exasperating series of events that supposedly happened to a real person.  Just another term for Folklore.  Doesn't have to be set in an urban environment.

Hey, I just find the use of the term amusingly oxymoronic, I ain't looking for trouble. On the other hand, when the term "urban legend" was first coined it was meant to refer to such stories set in an urban environment, as distinct from rural legends or "folklore". Now it's just one more neologism that's become so vague it's nearly meaningless.
