Amentep,

The Boston Public Library is one of the largest library networks in the country, and gets many, many donations of books throughout the year. Folks know these books are for re-sale at the two sales that happen each year.

The day of the sale, it's like a fever overtakes book fans. You go to the library and there are tables of books, and hundreds of buyers swarming over them, and they keep on bringing the books out. If you're like me you hit one place, then a couple other branches, until you can't buy no more.

Last time I spent $30 on over $800 worth of books, all of them read once, from the looks of them. Not only did I get bags and bags of books I really wanted, but I knew it was okay 'cuz the money went to a good cause. It took awhile for me to realize I didn't have to feel guilty about the days' purchases!

I got the entire run of the Master and Commander books for .50 cents each, for example.
