I keep mine...ABSOLUTELY! It's what comes from having worked in a public library for 22 years. When I was a child, if I saw a movie on TV, My mom and I went to the Library the next day...to find the book or play it was taken from. Nearly everything I have now is film related, research related, and history related.. I'm writing about a character in the 1920s...not only must he use the theatrical slang of his profession, he must speak in the vernacular of both his time and his class. I've still got a few favourite novels, but I'd say that 95% of what I've got now is non-fiction...all of it deeply cherished.
