It seems like everything from Alan Moore takes forever to come out (and it's not even necessarily his fault).  It took quite a while for Neonomicon to come out in the first place.  Moore wrote this back in 2005 or 2006 didn't he?  The series was finally supposed to come out last year but didn't it seems.

Anyhow, yes I have read both the Hornbook (preview issue for any of you following this) and issue 1 so far.  With the time between issues, I'm sure I'll be able to finish the Courtyard before issue #2 comes out.  I've been flipping through the annotations in the Companion and it's pretty informative.  I'll be through the prose story soon.  Then, the color adaptation of the Courtyard should be arriving shortly (hopefully by this weekend).

I think "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" is brilliant the way Moore weaves the various peices of fiction together to make various references play off one another.  Kevin O Neals art is a bit messy in places but he manages to convey just the right expression, right mood, and picks little references of his own to frame the scene just right.  I've got all League volumes with the Jess Nevins annotations for each...  Yeah, I know it seems silly to buy an annotations book for a comic but for I'm sure you've probably read these too?  I think anyone's whose read League and seen the amount of fictional references in it (time periods of fiction being used to reflect real world time periods in a complex literary web) would appreciate the work put into this even if not the type whose instantly drawn into pulp fiction or the type of stories that Moore is telling in his League comics.  I like how Moore weaves in a few Lovecraft references here and there (although, for anyone wondering, this wouldn't necessarily be a Lovecraft influenced work as it draws off all Literary fiction but there are a few interesting pieces thrown in places to fit with the League world)

As for the time it takes between League issues... Yeah, it's pretty appalling.  That's why I've largely just kind of forgotten about it for now.  I can't understand what the hold-up is.
