That had to be shall we say the most mature platoon in Us Military history.
Most of the platoon was over 40 and still privates.
The interesting thing is that it was an integrated platoon something rare for television of the 50s.
And I believe a rare platoon with two corporals. That was quite a collection of fine comics in that platoon and Mickey was very good with Billy Sands,Maurice Gosfield , Allan Melvin and Harvey Lembeck.
Add to them Phil Silvers , Paul Ford , Joe E Ross , Jimmy Little ,Elizabeth Fraser and Hope Sansbury and you have one of the finest casts assenbled for a comedy ever.
RIP Mickey Freeman, you were a fine comic actor.
