He's neither a fool nor in denial, guys.  Yes, on the one hand, he has always resisted the stupid "horror star" lable, because it's so limiting.  When you count up the number of films in which he's appeared, he very seldom has played the "monster."  It's just that we lot remember those films far more fondly than character roles in mystery films or comedies..

But he knows full well what his legacy is.  When I called him the day Peter Cushing died, Christopher Lee said to me, "I'm the last one."

He was right.
