Thank you very much for the precise explanations about "El enmascarado de plata", Torgaman. Really fascinating. Only 7 or 8 Santo movies were released on the big screen in France, in some of them he was renamed "Superman" as you probably know. I managed to get his 52 films on video, but to date I only saw the ones which were subtitled in English or French. It's surprising for me that some of the un-subtitled official DVDs were manufactured in the USA, when others were produced in Mexico with English and French subs!
Also, as you know, the original color prints of some (like "Santo en el tesoro de Dracula") seems to be "lost" in Mexico - both the French release and the VHS years later were in Eastmancolor - and only b&w prints are available, but there are rumors that the "Continental" version, with spicy scenes, has been found months ago and apparently nobody is interested in releasing it - in spite of the fact it's in Eastmancolor!
Personnally I think we never get "too much" of Santo, and other Mexican heroes of lucha libre!
