Actually, Craig, now that you mention it, I think the real AMBERSONS would be top of my list.  Just hadn't thought of it.

And, with mutual and reciprocal respect, I still think, in the wide world, LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT would take that prize.  Real, genuine, hardcore cinema mavens might well opt for GREED.  Post-silent obsessives maybe for the Welles.  But the general, sorta, casual-but-still-reads-AICN-regularly movie buff would go for Chaney.  I think.
