I don't mean to speak ill of the dead, but the article's assertion that FGM was "acclaimed" is highly questionable. He published one novel and the IMPROBABLE BESTIARY---only two books, and the latter was a collection of verses about imaginary animals, not a novel. The vast majority of his stuff was published as filler in SF magazines, not fiction. He wrote a lot of cute verses that fit nicely at the end of a story to round out the page, and he occasionally showed up on THE MAGAZINE OF FANTASY & SCIENCE FICTION'S "Curiosities" page, with write-ups about obscure old fantasy novels. His dubious fame rests on these accomplishments and his comments on the IMDb and other online venues in recent years. He was not what I would call an acclaimed writer.
