And the reason I say that it is a bootleg is that BILLY THE KID VS DRACULA is not in the pd like the companion flick, JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER. I believe MGM owns the rights to BTKVD?

Who really cares, though?  It is not like I sneaked down a dark allay and slipped cash to a guy in a mask going by the name of the weasel.  It was sold by Oldies.com, whom I called on a publicly available 800 number after spotting it on their on-line catalog.  They are openly advertising it.  I don't see any reason for a customer to think this is illegal.  I don't have the obligation to check the copyright.  If MGM has an interest in this, they should act to protect their interest.  I am not going to do it for them.

I agree with everything you have written. My only problem with a bootlegger is that they burn a copy on the unstable DVD-R format. I would rather buy a used copy of the official Emabassy VHS and burn my own copy. And when that copy gets unstable, I can just burn another copy. I have blown money on DVD-R's (both bootleggers and studio burn on demand) and see them go unstable later. It is the media format that I have an issue with, not the bootleggers.
