Galbraith (who posts here I believe) already did sort of a second edition called Monsters Are Attacking Tokyo which is a great book, one of my favorites ever, a beloved of mine since I was a kid. His taste, if a little biased toward the Showa films is good and his reviews are generally insightful. The interview segment of the book is invaluable and was the first really vivid picture I got of the Japanese film industry in those days as a kid.

But I agree that Stuart Galbraith should write a third Japanese fantasy genre related book covering the films since and with more current information. Also a lot of Japanese films which were more obscure in the 90s are easily available now which should go in.
