I suppose -- if anyone wants to take the trouble, I don't care enough to do it -- a simple phone call to the WGA might settle what writers were paid for doing a treatment back in the early 1950s. Especially if the call were made by a WGA member (Ted?) on the pretext of research (which, in a way, it is).

Or someone could ask somebody who was a WGA member back then.

Who knows, the info might even be online somewhere.
