Bradbury semi-indirectly had a very powerful influence on 1950s SF movies: many of them use the personel setup of IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE--dedicated young scientist, his good-looking girlfriend, a semi-rival for her favors who's in a position of authority.  The Giant Bug trend was largely launched by BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS, although of course the monster there wan't a bug--but those in THEM! were, and that was made because of the success of BEAST.  As I said in KWTS, maybe he should be considered not so much the Father of 1950s Science Fiction Movies, but their Uncle. 
    If you regard Bradbury's fiction as mostly representing a yearning for the past, you apparently haven't read very much of it..
