Let it also be said that some of the worst stuff is in Bradbury's "THIS treatment is mine, mine, all mine, isn't it much better???!!" treatment: Putnam gets peeved at a reporter and grabs him by the back of his neck and the seat of his pants and throws him out a door, Ellen gets in trouble with the Board of Education and a comedic Margaret Hamilton-type schoolmarm, a Foghorn Leghorn-type blowhard politician gives a comic speech in the crater, Putnam's mentor Dr. Snell is a motormouthed comedy relief buffoon, etc. There's none of that in the treatment based on Alland's ideas.

Fortunately, none of it made the cut. Thank you, Harry Essex/Alland/Arnold/whichever "vulgar" guy ripped out allll those pages.
