BoLorKay, congrats on going Blu! Since going Blu in December I've probably bought several dozen discs. The ones that I've enjoyed are listed below.

As far as classic titles go I have The Searchers and thought it looked pretty good on Blu. Paul mentions some yellow bias but I don't think I've ever seen this film look this good.

And this past weekend I picked up The Adventures of Robin Hood and it was a real jaw dropper for me. I couldn't believe the vibrance of the colors and the amount of detail that I was seeing for the first time. Both The Searchers and The Adventures of Robin Hood should be available at your local WalMart right now for $10 each.

All six of the Harry Potter films impressed me on Blu-Ray. Each was a wonder and again the clarity and detail are amazing.

UP was pretty sweet. I think I could have watched the house floating around on balloons for a half hour. But speaking of Disney, I also bought Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and I was not impressed with the way it looked. I'm not as technically savvy as some of the members here, but it seemed to me that the characters had been digitally tweeked so much that they no longer seemed to fit with those beautiful backgrounds. The characters looked out of place and as a result the entire film looked uneven to me. And I've read that the Blu-Ray of Pinocchio suffers in a similar manner.

Both of the Daniel Craig James Bond films, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, look great on Blu. So does the new Star Trek.

But I think my favorite Blu-Ray experience has been the Peter Jackson version of King Kong. This was the first Blu-Ray I watched so that may have something to do with my appreciation of it. It is pretty doggone epic and it looks fantastic on Blu-Ray.

Since you're just starting you're going to want to make your dollars stretch as far as you can. I would be patient since most of the titles that have been listed, while popular, have been out for a while and chances are pretty good that you will be able to find them at a fairly reasonable price over the months to come. I mentioned that The Searchers and Robin Hood are currently available for $10. I didn't pay more than $10 for any of the Harry Potter films. The Bonds, UP and King Kong ran about $15 each when I got them. I think the only disc I mentioned that I paid $20 for was Star Trek.

And let's not forget the new Wolfman! Ya' gotta' see that on Blu!
